Juvenile is injured in Monroe crash

A 16-year-old Saylorsburg boy was injured in a one-car crash at 10:49 p.m. Dec. 27 on Rodenbach Lane in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said the boy was transported to the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill, in a medical helicopter for treatment of what they said were moderate injuries.

Police said he was driving a 2001 Lincoln Continental south when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway and the vehicle traveled onto the right shoulder of the road. After the car re-entered the roadway, the driver was unable to regain control of it as it traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned onto its driver's side coming to rest.

Police said the car was towed from the scene.

Police said the driver will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

The West End Ambulance and Fire Department assisted police at the scene.
