The Mauch Chunk Trust Company (MCT) made a donation to the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency to aid them with their community projects.
The check presentation took place at Rainbow's End ice cream, candy, and gift shop on Broadway in downtown Jim Thorpe.
Mauch Chunk Trust company Branch Manager Sharon Cimino made the presentation to Michael Guy of the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency who said "I'm gladly accepting a check from the Mauch Chunk Trust company for $500 to help us pull through our Christmas season with our Olde Time Christmas Celebration and it came in very handy to pay for some of the expenses that we had."
"We do appreciate what the bank does and we're very happy about it," Guy said. "Donations are very important for us to market, advertise, and decorate the town."
He added, "We definitely need donations and we're appreciative of any donations we can get from businesses or individuals."
Guy continued, "Anyone wishing to help out can contact the Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency at 570-325-5810 or they can go to our website which is jimthorpe. org and leave a message there or they can drop off any donations or things that may be needed to help out here at Rainbow's End."
He said the Tourism Agency does events of all kinds, including Olde Time Christmas, Fall Foliage, Winterfest, and Jim Thorpe's Birthday Celebration.
"We'd love to have a summer-type of festival and we're working on that. We welcome volunteers and ideas," he said
The Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at Encore in the Albright Mansion, formerly Crave."
