Gasoline is stolen at Schuylkill site

Published December 16. 2013 05:00PM

The theft of unleaded and diesel fuel from a site in Schuylkill County is being investigated by state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said the incident happened between 3 p.m. Dec. 12 and 5:50 a.m. Dec. 13 at the Michael Coal Company in Tremont.

Police said someone entered the property by truck and proceeded to cut off a lock from a storage container, removing a five-gallon gasoline can containing the unleaded fuel. The suspects then located a work truck and cut off about 45 feet of air hose and then used the hose to siphon an unknown amount of diesel fuel from a tanker truck before fleeing the scene.
