Rush Twp. man gets state time for thefts

A Rush Township man, who was found guilty by a jury of being part of a gang which removed copper pipe and other items from the heating systems in vacant homes in Rush Township, was sentenced in Schuylkill County Court by Judge John E. Domalakes.

Frederick Andrew Postie, 42, of 626 Fairview St., on three counts of burglary and one count of criminal conspiracy drew a sentence of 40 to 132 months to be served in a state correctional facility and on another count of criminal conspiracy to serve an additional two years on probation when released from prison.

Postie also must pay restitution to the injured parties in the amount of $2,500 to Grouse Hunt Farm, care of Derek Zukovich, and pay $10,833.59 to Robert Williamson Trust, care of George Mermon, joint and several with Kerry Frank and Stephanie Keck. The sentence is consecutive to a sentence imposed in Carbon County on unrelated criminal matters.

He received concurring sentences on charges of criminal trespass, 12 to 24 months; criminal conspiracy, seven to 24 months; criminal mischief, six to 24 months; criminal trespass, nine to 24 months; and criminal mischief, eight to 24 months. Prosecutor was Rush Sgt. Duane Frederick.
