Tamaqua music dept. hosts holiday concert

The Tamaqua Senior High School Music Department will present its annual Holiday Music Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Tamaqua Area Auditorium. The best in holiday music will be presented by students in the Tamaqua Concert Choir, Jazz Chorale, Senior High Wind Ensemble and the Raider Concert Band.

The program will open with two selections by the wind ensemble, followed by the concert choir kicking off the vocal part of the program. The choir is expected to present four selections, ending the first half of the program with "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

The second half will open with the Raider Concert Band performing four musical selections, followed by Jazz and Concert Chorale with four selections.

The concert will conclude with an audience participation sing-a-long.

Accompanists for the choirs will be Cailyn Joseph, Andrew Delpais and Patrick McMullen. The Raide Band and Senior High Wind Ensemble are under the direction of Mark Beltz and the Concert Choir and Jazz Chorale are under the direction of John Buglio.

Tickets are available at the door. Doors to the auditorium will open at 6:45 p.m.
