December 9, 1988 Joe Gower pours in a game-high 28 points to help Lehighton hold off Panther Valley for a 61-57 victory. Gower tallies 10 points in the opening quarter as the Indians, coached by Dan Novey, jump out to an early lead. The high scorer adds six in the second frame to aid his team taking a 13-point advantage at the break. Trevor Miller contributes 15 points to the winning cause while Wayne Dietrich and Jim Barclay each chip in with six. For the Panthers, Matt Fritzinger tallies a team-high 20 points.
