Lehighton police searching for robber

Lehighton Police are investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred in the 100 block of South Fifth Street in the borough.

At 6:52 p.m. Thursday, a resident answered his door after someone began pounding on it. The resident was immediately forced inside and struck in the forehead with a semi-automatic pistol.

According to police, the offender is described as a black male, light skinned, 5 feet, 10 inches and approximately 165 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and had on black gloves. He also wore a black bandana over his face with unknown white markings.

Minimal property was taken. The offender was not seen leaving in any vehicle.
