Two persons were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, at the intersection of SR903 and Maury Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. State police at Lehighton released a report on the crash today.

Troopers said Andrew A. Adorno, 44, of Albrightsville, was driving a 1995 Saab 900SE southbound and approaching Maury Road while Lorraine A. Wing, 52, of Jim Thorpe, was northbound driving a 2013 Jeep Latitude.

Troopers said Adorno made a left turn to go onto Maury Road in front of Wing and a collision occurred. Upon impact the Saab spun counter-clockwise and came to final rest facing south about 25-feet off the south berm of 903. On impact the Jeep spun clockwise and struck a road sign and fence post and came to rest facing southeast on the southbound lane.

Both drivers were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. The police report indicates Adorno sustained major injuries and that Wing had moderate injuries.

Troopers said Adorno was cited for the crash and was issued two citations including vehicle turning left.

Reportedly the road was shutdown for over an hour.
