Copper piping was removed from a Schuylkill County home during a burglary. It was one of two break-ins investigated by state police at Frackville.

Troopers said a home owned by Joseph Lewis Salotti, 55, at 249 W. Main St., Girardville, was entered through a rear door located on the west side of the residence by kicking it open.

Once inside the criminals went to the basement area and removed several feet of copper piping from the water heater and furnace. They also removed a furnace pump.

The break-in occurred sometime between Nov. 20 and Dec. 4.

The second break-in occurred along Red Dale Road, in East Brunswick Township. Entry was gained by kicking open a door on a garage located on the north side of the home. Removed was jewelry. The home was unoccupied at the time, troopers noted. The entry occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 4. The victim's name was not released by troopers.
