Published December 03. 2013 05:00PM

A Carbon County woman entered a guilty plea to a drug count on Monday in county court.

Vanessa M. Zapotosky, 23, of Junedale, Banks Township, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance-heroin. In a plea bargain charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and persistent disorderly conduct were dropped.

She was arrested on June 24 at her home at 8 W. Main St., when state police at Hazleton responded to the residence for an active domestic incident. While investigating the domestic incident troopers found heroin in the home.

Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the plea and placed Zapotosky on probation for a year and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance imposed and D&A use and missed urine screens, render 50 hours of community service, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation, and pay court costs which average about $1,000.
