Two persons were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:40 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, along Kernsville Road, in Lowhill Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Tyler J. Silverstein, 18, of Macungie, was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when, for unknown reasons, he traveled into the northbound lane where his vehicle collided with a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Cheryl A. Durich, 45, of Walnutport.

Silverstein sustained major injuries, troopers said, and he and Durich, who suffered a moderate injury, were both transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Troopers cited Silverstein for careless driving.
