West End Fair passes the half-way mark

Still haven't found the time to be a part of the sights and sounds of summer?

Then don't waste another minute and head on out to the 92nd Annual West End Fair in Gilbert.

There's still time to attend the weeklong event, which continues today, Friday and Saturday at the West End Fairgrounds.

Today saw several performances by Midnight Special on the Main Stage, as well as Glenn Miller, The Big One Man Band in the band shell. There were also Children's Games in the ball field, along with a Children's Day Drawing on the Main Stage at 4:30 p.m.

Other events scheduled for this evening are PV Cubs Cheerleading at the Kids Korner at 6 p.m., a Monster Truck Meet and Greet (Monster Truck Show ticket required) at the Main Arena at 6 p.m., UUU on the Main Stage at 7 and 9 p.m., and a Monster Truck Show, featuring Bad Habit, Toxic, Bars Leak Eliminator, and Rislone Defender, at the Main Arena at 7 p.m.

Friday will see performances by Chris Ruble on the Main Stage at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., Dan & Galla on the Band Shell at 1:30 p.m., and the Mahoney Brothers on the Main Stage at 6, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. The Olympik Karate Center will do a demonstration at the Band Shell at 6:45 p.m., while the Modified Tractors 4x4 will be held in the Main Area at 7 p.m.

The fair wraps up on Saturday with performances by The Cramer Brothers on the Main Stage at noon, 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., the Paulie Knakk Rock Band on the Band Shell at 6 and 8 p.m., and Richie Fields on the Main Stage at 7 and 9 p.m.

Also, the Elite Dance Center will perform on the Band Shell at 2 p.m., Elite Cheer at the Kids Corner at 4 p.m., a Wood Carving Auction on the Main Stage at 4:30 p.m., a 4x4 Truck Pull, featuring 6500 & 8000 # Street Legal/6200 # Pro Street 2.8 Turbo Diesel/6200 # Modified Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League East Coast Pullers Series at the Main Arena at 6 p.m., and the West End Fair Talent Show Winner on the Main Stage at 6:45 p.m.

The fair began on Sunday, and offers free daily attractions such as Farmer For A Day, the Craft Tent, Fair Museum, Petting Zoo, and Antique Tractors and Engines.

Admission is $5 daily for those 11 years of age and older, and includes free stage and band shell attraction shows.
