Store incident nets man incarceration

Daniel Kelly, 45, of Scotrun, was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, after he was arrested for his role in an incident at the Wal-Mart in Mount Pocono at 8:26 p.m. Aug. 25.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they were summoned there after management reported a customer allegedly struck a sales associate with a leather men's belt.

Police said the investigation resulted in them learning Kelly was the assailant and was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time.

He was arrested for public drunkenness and harassment. Following arraignment he was lodged in the county prison.
