No one is hurt in Lehigh crash

A driver and five passengers escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:21 p.m. Aug. 24 on the Buck Mountain Road in Lehigh Township, rural Weatherly.

State police at the Hazleton barracks said the accident happened when Jordan Bonet, 21, of New York, N.Y., was driving a 2013 Kia Soul southbound on Lehigh Gorge Drive and was attempting to make a right turn onto Buck Mountain Road. Police said he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn, at which time the car traveled off the south side of the road and struck a concrete block with its left front end. The vehicle continued to strike the side of a house with its left front end and came to rest off the south side of the road.

The five passengers were all in their 20s and are from New York.

Police said the driver will be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
