Starts campfire in downtown Tamaqua

A homeless man from Lehighton was taken into custody for building a campfire in front of the Verizon building in downtown Tamaqua around 5:15 a.m. today. Passers-by called 911 after seeing the man huddled around the fire. Police said the man is expected to be cited for public drunkenness. Tamaqua Salvation Army offered assistance to the man.
