The crash occurred along SR143 just north of Bailey Road. Miller was operating a Dodge Dakota pickup northbound on the wet roadway. Miller was unable to negotiate a right curve in the road which caused the truck to go onto the berm.
The truck then struck a series of four trees. After impact the truck began to spin counter-clockwise and came to rest facing southbound and off the road. After that the truck became engulfed in flames.
Both Miller and Troxell were found inside the vehicle deceased.
