August 15, 1948 Nesquehoning scores all its runs in the fourth inning and hangs on to post a 5-3 Panther Valley League win over Mauch Chunk. Billy Kissner collects two hits and scores a run for the winners, who also receive a hit and run scored from Joe Kenny, Lou Higgins, Bobby Donegan and John Pancoe. Drozdak allows three runs over five innings to earn the pitching win while Pete Labosky secures the victory with three scoreless innings in relief.
