Break-ins, theft incidents probed
State police at Lehighton reported on the following burglary and theft incidents investigated by troopers.
Troopers said a break-in occurred at a storage area to the rear of Palmerton Garage Doors, located in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. A 2013 35-foot Outback Super Lite RV was entered by prying open a window. Once inside the criminals removed various items, including three flat screen televisions. The entry occurred sometime between July 20 and Aug. 4.
On Aug. 5 at 2:20 p.m. troopers responded to 22 Peter Ave., Towamensing Township, Carbon County, to a reported burglary. On scene troopers determined the home was entered. Removed was a 2010 John Deere lawn mower. The entry occurred sometime after Aug. 4 at 2 a.m. and was discovered at 9:10 a.m. the next day.
The theft of a Suzuki dirt bike is being probed. The bike was removed from Borgers Service Station, SR209, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said the bike was removed from a fenced in-pound lot. The criminals cut a chain which secured the dirt bike. The theft was reported at 10:30 p.m. on July 31.
Matthew Michael Rutt, 186 Monroe Drive, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported a radiator was removed from the front yard of his property. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 2 at 6:40 a.m.
Troopers said the unlocked Volkswagen of Kathryn Leigh Morrison, 43, of 61 Blackberry Lane, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, was entered while at the residence and several items were removed. The entry occurred sometime between July 31 at 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Aug. 1.
The Jeep Cherokee and Chrysler Pacifica of Lisa Ann Turchick, 50, of 71 Blue Bell Lane, Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, was entered while parked at the residence. Removed was change of about $4 and two pocket knives. The incident was reported at 1 a.m. on Aug. 1.
Michael Grosse, 44, of 127 Mansi Drive, Albrightsville, reported the license plate on a trailer was stolen. Grosse reported the incident at 8 a.m. on June 6.
A diesel starter was removed from a Ford F350 truck parked at Architectural Polymers, 1220 Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 2-5.
Sal Madrid, 31, of Jim Thorpe, reported the registration plate from his motorcycle fell off in the area of state routes 145 and 903 in Penn Forest Township. The incident was reported at noon on Aug. 1. The plate is SAL9R.
