Aaron Luke Mattern, 57, of 318 Penn St., Tamaqua, has been charged following an incident at the South Ward Playground on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Mattern allegedly struck a 14-year-old male while at the playground. The victim told police Mattern told him he was ugly, so the teen told him, "No one is as ugly as you." When contacted, Mattern admitted to "losing his cool and slapping the boy."He was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct.
