Children who live in the Lansford Townhouses learned how to stay safe during a lively program Tuesday afternoon lead by Carbon County Sheriff's Deputy Lt. David E. Midas.

Under Midas' direction, the children learned the importance of not accepting money or gifts from strangers, avoiding playing alone in dark or deserted areas, and how to avoid bullying, and when to call 911.

The session was part of the Summer Reading program being held on Tuesdays in the Townhouse all-purpose room.
