Tamaqua man facing theft count

Jeremy E. Plasko, 36, of 409 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, has been cited for retail theft after he allegedly shoplifted several items from the Family Dollar Store in the borough on July 29.

Police were dispatched to the store at 137 N. Railroad St. at 4:21 p.m. after Plasko was observed placing items in his book bag. The items included candy, coffee filters, instant coffee and super glue. The total value of the items was approximately $15.

While placing Plasko under arrest the officer conducted a pat down search and found a small baggie with bluish powder in his front pocket and a bent spoon. In the book bag was a number of syringes.

Plasko was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
