Incident on game lands probed

Four people have been charged following an incident on state game lands in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said game commission officers stopped a vehicle off Swatara Road, near SR209, in Reilly Township, on state game lands where vehicles are prohibited.

As a result of an investigation William Rose Jr., 41, of Schuylkill Haven, was charged with providing alcohol to two juvenile females, ages 14 and 15, both of Schuylkill Haven. The juveniles were charged with underage drinking.

Another person in the vehicle, Charles Ackerman Jr., 23, of Hamburg, was found to have a handgun concealed in the vehicle without a permit to carry. He is facing a firearms violation, troopers said.
