A Delaware County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 10:15 p.m. on July 26 along Towamensing Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Michael G. Quagliariello, 36, of Newtown Square, was driving a 2002 Dodge Ram truck southbound when he lost control while negotiating a right hand curve. The truck left the road with the right front tire impacting with a tree, which caused it to roll onto the driver's side.

After Quagliariello exited the vehicle it caught fire. The fire was extinguished by volunteers from the Towamensing Fire Company. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

The road was closed for about an hour, troopers said.
