She added, "Drug use and crime that results from drug use is not just a local problem but a regional one. We need to make our communities better for our residents and children and we can only do it by working together."
Henning stated, "The upcoming event means several things to our committee, it's a positive community event where families and neighbors can get together and have a great outdoor night, its also something that we can provide where the public can learn about crime and drug awareness and have fun doing it."
If there is rain the day of the event, the committee recommends checking the Facebook page "Jim Thorpe National Night Out" to see if NNO will be delayed to the rain date on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
