Democrats hold annual picnic

The Carbon County Democratic party held its annual summer picnic on Thursday night at Jim Thorpe's Memorial Park, where the chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, four gubernatorial candidates and one candidate for lieutenant governor attended and addressed the party members. Billy O'Gurek Jr., center, county chairman, greeted the guests who included, l-r, Brad Koplinski, Harrisburg City councilman who is running for lieutenant governor, John Hanger, former Pa. Department of Environmental Protection secretary, Jo Ellen Litz, commissioner from Lebanon County, Jim Burn of Allegheny County, state party chairman, Max Myers, a minister from Mechanicsburg, and Tom Wolfe, former Pa. Department of Revenue secretary. Hanger, Litz, Myers and Wolfe are the gubernatorial candidates.
