Dale Freudenberger seeks tax collector's post for Tamaqua

Dale Freudenberger of Tamaqua is seeking the Tamaqua Borough Tax Collector position in the upcoming May Primary Election. Current Tamaqua Tax Collector, Alan Kerr, is retiring at the end of 2013, so Freudenberger decided to seek the position. Freudenberger, age 53, is registered on the Republican ticket.

Freudenberger is a lifelong resident of Tamaqua and graduate of Tamaqua Area High School Class of 1977. He is the son of the late Charles and Jean Freudenberger of Schuylkill Avenue. He has two older brothers, Barry who is deceased, and Wayne, with whom he resides.

Freudenberger is well known throughout the Tamaqua area and Eastern Pennsylvania in his current employment as the Anthracite Region Coordinator with the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. He presently maintains his office in Lehighton. Freudenberger is relied on by many organizations and communities for his knowledge, experience and expertise in historic preservation, restoration, community design, downtown revitalization, heritage tourism development, economic development, site interpretation, partnership building, regional history, ethnic and cultural history, grant writing, museum development, and other related fields of interest. He serves on many Boards and organizations throughout the Anthracite region such as the No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum, Eckley Miners Village, and the Anthracite Heritage Foundation to name a few. He is very active in our area and known for always being willing to help others and striving to improve our community and region.

Freudenberger is well known for his civic involvement in Tamaqua beginning at the age of 14 and continuing uninterrupted to the present. His current civic involvement in Tamaqua includes serving as President of the Tamaqua Historical Society, Secretary of Tamaqua SOS Save Our Station, and Chairman of the Tamaqua Borough Historic Architectural Review Commission.

Dale's previous employment includes 14 years with J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills, 5 years as Director of Passenger Service with the Reading and Northern Railroad, 2 years with Boscovs, 5 years as a Legislative Assistant to State Rep. David Argall, and 11 years with the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.

Freudenberger is known for his knowledge, honesty, integrity, dependability, dedication, kindness and generosity to any task he undertakes. If elected as the new Tamaqua Borough Tax Collector, he will establish an office in the downtown area that is convenient for Tamaqua residents.
