Electronic recycling

Earlier this year, due to new regulations, residents of Tamaqua were no longer able to place their old electronic devices out for curbside pick up on trash day. To alleviate the hardship this has caused, Advanced Green Solutions Inc. will hold a free electronic recycling event on May 18 at the Tamaqua Transfer Station, 20 Sewer Plant Road, Tamaqua.

Items to be collected and recycled will include: televisions, telephones, cell phones, keyboards, cables, cords, CRT monitors, copiers, printers, fax machines, stereos, speakers, DVD players, VCRs, video game systems, LCD monitors, word processors, hard drives, desktop/laptop computers and other miscellaneous electronics equipment.

Hours for dropping items off at the transfer station will be 8 a.m. to noon on May 18.

For more information, call (570) 668-4515.
