Cited for retaill theft

A 36-year-old Tamaqua man was cited following an incident at the Family Dollar Store, 137 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

Police were dispatched to the retail store at 4:12 p.m. on April 21 after a male allegedly stole a pack of batteries from the store. Officers were given a description of the male, the dog he was walking and his direction of travel.

Within minutes, Patrolman Matthew Houser found a man fitting the description and identified him as Torrey Starling Mueller of 22 Green St., Tamaqua.

A witness confirmed he was the person who took the batteries.

He was cited for retail theft.
