DG Team Excellence Award recognizes team members

The 2011-2012 District 14 U Governor Team Excellence Award was bestowed on Scott Dudley, IPDG, and Liz McElwee in recognition of their achievement of positive membership growth and excellence in district leadership.
The award was presented by Bob Miller, PID.
Dudley, McElwee and Miller are all members of the West Penn Lions Club.
"I am presented this award in honor of Lions International President Wing-Kum Tam," said Miller.
To be considered for the award, the team must meet five required achievements and complete 10 optional achievements that are selected from 20 possible choices.
The five required achievements include: Service, Membership, Charter a New Club, Communication and Leadership Development.
In the Service requirement, 90 percent of the clubs in District 14 U were required to participate in a meaningful and visible service project.
In the Membership requirement, District 14 U had to see a net membership increase or charter a new club. District 14 saw signifiant membership increase, plus chartered a new club. The Beltzville Lions Club chartered in September 2012.
In the Communication requirement, each club had to be visited by a member of the District Governor's team.
In the Leadership Development requirement, the district was required to provide a training session and provide mentoring of club officers.
Optional achievements included, hosting a new member orientation, gaining new members by initiating a successful districtwide membership campaign, had a net increase and chartered a new club, saw a new increase of women members, 90 percent of the clubs submitted a membership report by the end of the year, 75 percent of the clubs submitted an activity report, 100 percent of clubs submitted a club officer report, 10 percent of the clubs awarded a Melvin Jones Fellow, 50 percent of the clubs supported Lions Clubs Internation Foundation, and 50 percent of clubs have a signature service project.
