Carbon man jailed on multiple counts

A Carbon County man was jailed on multiple counts.

State police at Lehighton said Jonathan Allen Groegler, 24, of 167 Forest Inn Road, in Towamensing Township, took the vehicle of his father, Timothy R. Groegler, about 8:30 a.m. on April 17, without his permission. He returned to the home about 9:45 a.m. at which time he was arrested by troopers. At the time he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Troopers said Jonathan Groegler was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of a automobile, and numerous summary traffic violations.

He was arraigned before District Judge William Kissner, of Palmerton, and committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning, after failing to post $10,000 straight cash bail.
