Vehicle stop leads to wanted person

A vehicle stop in Monroe County led to the arrest of a wanted person.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 9 a.m. on Monday, April 15, officers stopped a Ford truck along Long Pond Road for an expired inspection sticker. The driver was identified as Brian Fitzgerald, 27, of Long Pond.

His passenger was identified as Geraldo Rodriguez, 26, also of Long Pond. A routine check determined that there was an active warrant for Rodriguez's arrest for failure to appear issued to the Monroe County Sheriff's Deparrtment on a drug charge.

Rodriguez was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville on the warrant. Fitzgerald was cited for the motor vehicle code violation and released.
