Break-in at athletic field probed

A burglary at an athletic complex in Carbon County is being investigated.

State police at Lehighton said entry was made at the Towamensing baseball field complex at 120 Stable Road. Specifically the concession stand was the target of the entry.

Troopers said a front metal roll up window and a metal roll up door were damaged in the incident, with damages estimated at $1,500. Taken were bottles of Coca Cola, Slim Jims, and Big Chew bubble gum, with a total value of $35. The facility is the property of the Palmerton-Towamensing Township Athletic Association, troopers noted.

The incident occurred sometime between 3 and 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
