Lehigh man jailed for assault incident

A Lehigh County man was jailed on Wednesday, April 10, on assault and related charges.

State police at Fogelsville said about 2:02 p.m. they responded to 7100 block of Herber Road, in Lowhill Township, for a 9-1-1 call from the residence. On scene troopers made contact wtih James F. Albright, 55, of New Tripoli.

Troopers then found a 54-year-old female from New Tripoli in the basement. Troopers determined that Albright, who was known to the female, had dragged her from the first floor to the basement by her arm. Once in the basement she was further restrained.

Troopers found that the female was in need of medical attention and Cetronia ambulance personnel responded and took her to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Townsip, for treatment.

Albright was taken into custody and arraigned at the county central court on charges of aggravated and simple assault, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, and harassment. He was committed to the county prison after failing to post $500,000 straight cash bail.
