April 9, 1952 Doug Shiner wins a pair of events to help Palmerton open its track season with a 60-35 victory over Emmaus. Shiner captures both the 100 and 880 for Bill Wilhelm's Blue Bombers. George Perich claims the broad jump, ties for first in the high jump, and is a member of the winning mile relay team. Kelchner also contributes to the relay foursome and wins the mile run.
