New fee scheduled

The Chestnuthill Township supervisors approved, 3-0, Resolution 2013-10, which gives them the right to adopt and amend a schedule of fees for services, various regulated events and activities throughout the township. They approved Chestnuthill Township Schedule of Fees and the park fees. There were no revisions for Lehigh Valley Inspection Service Schedule of Fees nor the Sewage Enforcement Schedule of Fees.

Those fee schedules are available to the public at the township office, located on Route 715 in Brodheadsville, during business hours.Supervisor Vice Chairman Dave Fleetwood said the next Chestnuthill Township Historical Society meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at the Chestnuthill Township Park building. The next township 250th Anniversary Committee meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the township municipal building.Supervisor Chris Eckert reported that the West End Fire Co. responded to 77 calls, the West End Ambulance responded to 132 calls and the Pennsylvania State Police responded to 280 calls in the month of March.The board voted to approve, 3-0:• to advertise the sale of a 310D backhoe• authorization to Adam Thieling and Matt Neeb to act as code enforcement officers to issue citations in the township• authorization to bid of FOB materials. Cathy Martinelli, township office manager said the township has budgeted $150,000 for materials.• releasing $163,185 of the Dollar General bond, withholding $2,500 until they have met all of the township engineer's conditions.The board approved, 3-0, to hire John Matthew's as a part-time township employee. Currently he is serving as an intern at the township. He will graduate from East Stroudsburg University in May. He will then start work for the township on May 13, 32 hours a week at $12 an hour."He's doing an incredible job. We have a lot of work during the summertime, so he'll be busy," said Dave Albright, the township manager.Bernie Kozen, executive director of the West End Park and Open Space Commission, reported that work has begun on the township park's new band shell. He also said that 250 children participated in the Easter Egg Hunt at the Ross Township park and 100 participated in the Easter Egg Coloring event at the Chestnuthill Township park.There will be an April 16 supervisors' meeting at 7 p.m. The only business conducted will be an ordinance hearing, bill paying and vote on LSA grant contract.
