Members of the Tamaqua Area D.A.R.E. program are always looking for volunteers to help with year-round activities. State and local budget cuts mean that volunteers have to work harder to raise funds to keep the program running. Some upcoming activities consist of a roast beef benefit this Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the TamaquaRescue garage (19 Pine Street) and DARE graduation April 11 at the Tamaqua Middle School Auditorium. For more information or to help call Lisa Shilko at (570) 778-2005.
