Two persons were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2:40 p.m. March 31 at the intersection of Forest inn Road and Stagecoach Road west in Towamensing Township. State police at the Lehighton barracks said Rodney Dale Moreira, 61, and Deborah R. Moreira, 62, both of 149 Center St., Slatington, were transported by ambulance and helicopter to the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill.

The extent of their injuries is unknown, police said.

Police said the accident happened when a vehicle operated by Edward D. Kiss, 45, of 49 Fairground Road, Gilbert, swerved to miss another vehicle that was attempting to cross the roadway in front of him, and, in doing so, struck a vehicle operated by Rodney Moreira. Kiss was not hurt in the crash. Police were assisted at the scene by the Lehighton and Palmerton ambulances, Schlier's Towing and the Towamensing Volunteer Fire Company. Police said charges are pending the completion of their investigation.

Photographs of the accident appeared on Page 5 of Monday's edition of the TIMES NEWS.
