Two Schuylkill County residents were arraigned on Tuesday, March 26, on felony drug charges.

State police at Frackville said the arrest of Brett Lee Blankenbiller, 43, and Shandra Lee Detweiler, 36, both of Frackville, was the result of an ongoing investigation.

Troopers said between February 2008 and November 2012, the two rented a room at Holiday Inn Express, Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township.

On Jan. 8 a search warrant was executed at the hotel pertaining to the ongoing investigation. A further investigation revealed that Blankenbiller and Detweiler were in possession of controlled substances-bath salts, and drug paraphernalia while they were staying at the hotel.

Both were charged with three counts each of felony drug counts of possession, possession with intent to deliver, distribute or sell a noncontrolled substance, and implied representation it was a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two were arraigned before District Judge David Plachko, of Port Carbon. Bail was set at 10 percent of $25,000 for each. Blankenbiller was able to post bail and was released. Detweiler was unable to post bail and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
