Lions Club plans meeting

Palmerton Lions will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at the Palmerton Library. Members are encouraged to bring a guest and/or family member to the meeting.

Felicia Sue Anthony, a Lehighton School District student, will share her experience related to her attendance at Beacon Lodge this summer.

Community members are reminded to donate used eyeglasses at Houser Newman Eye Associates, Walters Optometric, First National Bank, Citizens Bank, all located on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton and/or the Palmerton Area High School, on Fire Line Road; or give them to any Lions member.

Eyeglasses are recycled for those in other countries who are unable to afford corrective lenses. In addition, anyone needing financial assistance with eyeglasses can contact committee chairman/chairwoman, Jim Sheckler at (610) 826-4533. There are financial guidelines that must be followed by all applicants and a written application must be completed and approved.
