Prescription Drug Take-Back Day scheduled for Sept. 29

Senator John Yudichak (D-Luzerne/Carbon/Monroe) reminds area residents of the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Sept. 29.

"I encourage everyone to take advantage of this important nationwide effort to prevent medication abuse and provide a convenient and safe way to dispose of unwanted and unnecessary prescription drugs," said Yudichak.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The DEA, the Pennsylvania State Police and local law enforcement will have locations across Luzerne, Carbon and Monroe counties for the public to drop off unwanted prescription drugs.The service is free and anonymous.

• Slatington Police Department, 125 S. Walnut St., Slatington

• Pocono Regional Police Department, 2454 Route 940, Pocono Summit

• Pocono Township Police Department, 110 Township Road, Tannersville
