Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Frackville reported on a burglary and theft incidents being investigated by troopers.

The break-in occurred at Hammer's Towing, located in the 1200 block of Valley Road, in Cass Township. Forced entry was made to the business. Removed was cash and checks. The incident occurred sometime beween 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Troopers are probing a theft incident at the K&K Coal Company, located in Cumbola, Blythe Township. Unknown criminals arrived at the location on a four-wheel drive vehicle through various off roads. While on scene they removed three pieces of galvanized steel cable, about one-inch in diameter and about 120 feet in length. They then dragged the cables through various trails for about two miles towards Port Carbon.

The incident occurred sometime between Sept. 21-24.

Troopers are probing the break-in of two vehicles while parked along Mountain View Lane and Crystal Lane, in Cass Township. Removed from the vehicles were a purse, multiple bags, and other items. The listed victims are Sara Dudley and Marie Gittins, both of Pottsville.
