Jim Thorpe student in intensive care unit

An Albrightsville area teen injured in a car accident Sunday remains in the intensive care unit of the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township campus.

Khaaliq Lynch, 17, a junior and outstanding athlete at Jim Thorpe Area High School, sustained very serious injuries while a passenger in a car which crashed while racing another vehicle, according to state police.

Lynch was flown to the Lehigh Valley Hospital by MedEvac helicopter. No other details of his condition were available.

According to state police, the accident happened at about 12:06 p.m. Sunday along Jonas Road in Chestnuthill Township.
