A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash that occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Regina E. Schaeffer, 86, of Donaldson, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, was pulling out of a parking lot and attempting to make a left turn when she pulled into the path of a 2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster operated by Jason Skripko, 28, of Pottsville. Skripko attempted to stop with the bike with it falling onto its right side and traveling about 26-feet before leaving the road.

Skripko and his passenger, Heather I. Flannery, 27, also of Pottsville, were both tossed from the bike and traveled about 46-feet before coming to rest on the ground.

Skripko sustained a head injury and was taken to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, by LifeFlight helicopter. Flannery was also injured and taken to Geisinger by ambulance. Schaeffer was not injured.

Troopers said Schaeffer was cited for vehicles entering or crossing roadways.
