Golden Agers Picnic
Members of the Panther Valley Golden Agers who signed up for the picnic to be held Monday Sept. 17 at #9 Picnic area, are reminded that lunch will start at 1 p.m. Anyone wishing to participate in the Chinese auction is asked to bring a $5 gift.
St. John Lutheran
Tonight at 7 p.m., St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, will hold an informal worship. This will be a spiritual, peaceful, evening service with Holy Communion.
All are welcome to this relaxed, brief, musical, evening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult Bible study and confirmation program at 6:30. For more information call the Rev. Marjorie Keiter, (570) 273-4038.
Zion Lutheran Church
On Sunday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m., a coffee hour will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 2 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, to introduce Vicar Ben Siebert. Vicar Siebert is a seminarian at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia who will be serving a one-year internship at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Summit Hill.
Morning worship begins at 9 a.m. and visitors are always welcome.
Zion's 100th anniversary celebration will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14. Worship service will be at 4 p.m. The Rev. Samuel R. Zeiser, Bishop of ELCA Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod, will be the homilist. A dinner will follow at Macaluso's. Reservations for the dinner will be accepted until Oct. 1. Healing ministry, St. Francis church
St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning extends a personal invitation anyone struggling with the grief process in the loss of a loved one.
The Fall Bereavement Group will begin Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the parish library, located in the basement of the rectory at 15 East Garibaldi Ave. Sessions will continue each Tuesday for six weeks and are strictly confidential.
