Schuylkill County Zoning Hearing Board held hearings on two applications seeking to open or expand businesses serving sportsmen, at the courthouse in Pottsville Thursday evening.

Eric Minibach seeks to enlarge his archery supply store and taxidermy business to sell guns and ammunition at 440 Greenwood Road in Porter Township. He assured the board although he has an archery shooting range inside his building there would be no shooting range for guns. When the store is closed the guns would be safety locked. Also he does not intend to sell black gun powder. The board granted him permission to include the sale of guns.

Brandon Reed has applied to open a taxidermy shop in a building he plans to erect adjoining his home at 3025 Chestnut Street in East Norwegian Township. The board reserved making a decision until next month's meeting.

The board rendered a decision on a application heard at last month's meeting. The board granted the variance requested by James J. Wentz, of 557 Forest Land, Cass Township, to permit him to construct a second accessory structure on the property for a landscape business which he owns and operates.
