Friends and family organized a bike run and entertainment benefit recently for Ricky Evans, 33, who is recovering after suffering a severe stroke.

The event, held at the West Penn Rod and Gun Club, included a motorcycle run, band and DJ entertainment, a Chinese auction, food and other fundraising activities.

Volunteer and event co-organizer RJ Nelson, stressed his appreciation to everyone who helped put benefit together, as well as all who attended. He pointed out that Dan Romig and Tanya Kunkel were the true event organizers.

They were not able to attend as they both were recovering from a motorcycle accident a week before the event in Snyders. The accident happened after Romig's motorcycle crashed after it locked up and fish tailed.

Ricky and his family stressed their appreciation to Tanya, Dan, Nelson and everyone else who put the event together. For more information on how to help, visit the event of Facebook.
