Woman hurt in Hauto crash

SR54 in Nesquehoning was closed for several hours early Tuesday morning after a car snapped off a utility pole. The incident occurred at 11:52 p.m. as a female driver was traveling east near Fourth Ave in Hauto Estates. She apparently lost control of her vehicle with it leaving the right berm, impacting with and snapping off a P.P. & L. utility pole. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Nesquehoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. Responding was the Nesquehoning Fire department and Hauto Fire Company. Nesquehoning police are investigating the incident.
