Two football games moved to Saturday

Two TIMES NEWS area football games have been moved from Friday to Saturday.

The Tamaqua at Marian game, which will decide the Anthracite Football League championship, was originally scheduled for Friday evening but has been moved to Saturday at 7 p.m. If power hasn't returned by Saturday, the game may be moved up to an afternoon start on Saturday.

Also, the Lehighton at Jim Thorpe contest has been rescheduled. The battle for the Route 209 trophy will now take place at 4:30 p.m.

In addition to the Lehighton-Jim Thorpe varsity game, the JV game has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Middle School contest for Saturday at 10 a.m., remains as scheduled.

Both Tamaqua and Marian will be holding advanced ticket sales for their football game . Tamaqua will sell advanced tickets on Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the main office of the high school.

Marian sell tickets in the main office of its high school on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
