PPL crews out in force

Hundreds of PPL crews are out in force following the aftermath of Sandy. As of 9:30 today, there were 40,6248 customers out of power in 28 counties in eastern Pennsylvania. Top counties affected included Lehigh County (116,557 customers affected), Northhampton County (61,482), Monroe County (44,763), Luzerne County (22,787), Bucks County (22,203), Wayne County (20,006), Schuylkill County (19,334), Lackawanna County (18,151) and Carbon County (13,582). Report a power outage to PPL by calling (800) 342-5775. Pictured is a PPL crew last night investigating their large substation located just off of SR54 and Ye Old Hauto Road in Hometown. This station provides the majority of power to Tamaqua.
