Published October 27. 2012 09:01AM

An Old Fashioned Hay Ride and Fall Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at the Weissport Park and Lehigh Canal Park at Weissport.

The event will include tractor drawn hayrides, a tractor show, crafters, pumpkin patch, homemade food and children's activities, including make your own scare crow. Along with catering to family members of all ages, there will be attendants at the event to assist elderly and people with disabilities on and off the hay wagons and to assist with the serving of food.

The hay ride, held every 20 minutes, beginning at 11 a.m., will give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the fall foliage experience along the historic Lehigh Canal Park at Weissport. Riders can view the blazing foliage on one side of the trail and the Lehigh River on the other side.

There will be a variety of children's activities, including a "train ride" in the park for little ones, a bounce house, and children's tractor pedal pull (Saturday only), sponsored by Pocono Old Tyme Plow Boys.

This event is being sponsored by L-TNT Pyrotechs Inc., Walnutport, which is providing the tractors and transportation and drivers; Lehigh Canal Recreation Commission, which is opening the park gates and welcoming everyone to this event; and Walnutport Canal Association which is providing hay wagons. Beltzville Lions Club organized the event.
